Mixing students from schools who are about to join to become academies has been useful helping them to get to know each other and to break down barriers which may exist.

‘The trip is still a talking point within school and pupils now speak to teachers more than before. Pupils have come out of their shells and started to join in other activities’

‘Having been invited to participate in the project from its early inception I have been particularly impressed by the way in which the FSC have organised, planned and integrated the programme around the needs of the schools. Having observed the programme at first hand I was left in no doubt about the high quality input of the FSC staff, the commitment of participating school staff and the enthusiastic response of the young people themselves. The integration of the residential learning element of the programme is well supported through follow up work back at school thus maximising the learning outcomes for the young people themselves’.

The Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is working closely with schools for the three sessions following the residential course.
